Mark your calendars for Pearson ECS Math and Literacy Open House on Tuesday, February 23 at 6:00. The Open House is a great opportunity for your child to show off his/her classroom.

Thank you for coming out to Chuck E. Cheese and Wendy's over the last few weeks. We were able to riase over $300 for the Pearson PTA. These funds are used for PTA programs and other activities that benefit our staff and children. We will be having a few more fundraising nights before the end of the year. It is a great way to support the PTA and to meet Pearson families.

Volunteers Needed

We need volunteers to head the Spring Carnival and Silent Auction Committees. Most immediately we need a Silent Auction Chairperson to solicit donations from the community, organize donations and ready them for the Silent Auction which is held during the Spring Carnival. This is an important and lucrative way for us to raise money for Pearson. Please contact Naomi Calle if you are interested.

Please mark your calendars for the End of Year Party on May 31st. We will need many volunteers for this event. Please be sure to complete your criminal background check with the district if you intend to help with this program.

Criminal History Background

Friendship parties are right around the corner. Per district policy, individuals who are volunteering with students must pass a criminal history background check with the district. Please go to pisd.edu and complete the necessary paperwork. Be sure to choose Pearson ECS as a volunteer location. Waiting until the last minute might result in you not being able to attend the school party.

Ms. Vanhorn, teacher of the 3-year old Star class,has been selected as the Experienced TEacher of the Year. Ms. Vanhorn will represent Pearson at the district level.

Thank you for coming out to support Pearson at Cici's Pizza on December 7. We were able to raise $103 for the Pearson PTA. This money will be used to help fund programs like Classroom Parties, Parent Education, and Dad/Kid Movie Nights. We wil be planning additional Pearson nights in the future and would love to have you join us.
