From: Amy Nelson, Pearson ECS PTA President On behalf of the Pearson Early Childhood School Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), I welcome you to Pearson Early Childhood School. Pearson offers a vibrant, nurturing environment where children flourish and shine.

A key component of this environment is a strong relationship between Pearson staff and Pearson families The Pearson ECS PTA provides a channel to build and maintain this strong relationship. The Pearson PTA enhances the Pearson experience by supporting the Pearson faculty, staff, and parents in helping the children reach their highest ability and potential. A subset of the Pearson PTA goals are:

• To reach out to and support Pearson's diversified student body and its families
• Supply Pearson students and staff with needed resources to promote student achievement
• Promote parent involvement through volunteer opportunities
• Provide parenting education opportunities to Pearson parents/guardians
• Foster Pearson community pride and spirit

A few specific examples of Pearson PTA-supported programs are:

• Parent education nights
• Family math & literacy nights
• Dad/kid movie nights
• Teacher continuing education
• Classroom grants for classroom supplies

What does all of this mean to you? Pearson PTA is you! It is you shaping school policy at the local, state, and national levels. It is you plugged in to what's happening at the school. It is you as a role model for your children. It is you meeting other parents, and sharing ideas. So, please actively involve yourself in your child's education by joining and volunteering for the Pearson PTA!
